Does Size Really Matter?

When we are trying to understand the size of the continents within the world, size does matter. Continents look different when you look at the maps that are more focused towards the West. The Western maps make everything seem stretched out and near the poles it should be stretched out but isn’t seen that way.  South America and Africa are a lot bigger in comparison to other continents. In some of the maps, they seem smaller. In “The 1885 Gall-Peters Projection” map, believe it or not, provides a better description of the world regarding size. It is mind-blowing to consider that a map from the 1800’s could be more accurate than what we have today. It does not seem possible, but it is.

You may think they broke the mold, and you were one in a million when you born, but the truth is you are not one in a million. There are 7,184 people, and they are just like you. With seven billion people on this planet, each and every one of them deserves to be treated well. Unfortunately, humans are not always the nicest species. We tend to turn on one another way too often.

Should I Live in a Castle or a Lighthouse?

There are lighthouses, and castles going for a lot less money than New York apartments. The rent is rising in New York. To get an apartment in Brooklyn, you would be paying around $3,000 on a monthly basis. With the rent going sky high, people think it may be nicer to move to less expensive states. I know I would enjoy living in a castle. Some of you may agree with me. Water babies would love a lighthouse.  That is if the lighthouse is less expensive than some of those New York City apartments.

The United States is not one of them yet. The United States has yet to make it to the Top 50 list. After all compared to countries like China, this country has not been around long enough. Our country is still a baby among others. What that says is that you do not have to be a long standing empire to be one of the top powered countries in the world.

Ten Percent of the World Cannot Read

It is sad to think that 10 percent of the world is illiterate.  Afghanistan only has 28% of its people able to read. Therefore, 72% are illiterate in that country. That is sad to say the least. I do not understand why some countries hold literacy as only a noble’s reality. Their countries would fare better with educated children.

The Holidays we enjoy are Pretty Morbid

There were multiple deaths of American workers on Labor Day, and it was created to cover up those deaths. We celebrate Columbus Day and the ruthless man that was named Columbus had a history that was nothing but a fraud.  Another holiday where Native Americans’ and Pilgrims’ were supposed to come together as friends, isn’t correct. They did not celebrate anything and Thanksgiving is a fake celebration. The truth is we make holidays from fairy tales. Look at our history, we Americans love to celebrate.

Here is a fascinating fact. A group of scientists decided to swab the navels of sixty people. What they found was astounding. Over twenty-three hundred forms of bacteria live in those navels. They found a new 1,458 bacteria that were brand new to the scientific record. A whole new world was found just by checking out sixty people’s belly buttons. It is unheard of that another world lives inside our belly buttons.

We as humans cannot see everything we thought we could. Chickens can actually see many more colors than us unfortunate people. Our bodies hold us back from the wonders of the world by not allowing us to process all the world has to give. Rainbows are made up of over a million colors. Many that we cannot see.  Sadly we are missing out on a lot of great things, and the chickens are very lucky.

The jellyfish otherwise known as the Turritopsis nutricula can literally live forever. This is done by it reverting to its early stage of life after it becomes sexually mature. Unfortunately, we are notanywhere near that ability. If we did get to that point, having children would be a thing of the past. We could never live in the world with too many peoplelivingat the same time.

Almost a full week is used yearly as we Americans get stuck in traffic. It turns out to be 38 hours annually. In Washington, it is 67 hours a year that people are stuck in traffic. Unbelievable how long we end up getting stuck. What we have learned through this is Washington can be a tough state to drive through.

How Many Suns are there?

Did you know that our sun is one out of 300 sextillion stars in our universe? It is amazing that someone knows that. Anyhow, sextillions are considered three trillion times one hundred billion or a three followed by twenty-three zeros. That is tremendous.

TheSunis part of another universe that came from a four-dimensional black hole. Supposedly it broke off, and the debris became our Sun. Even more amazing is that most likely there are many other black holes and, therefore, many other universes. Our world is a pimple in the universe when you look at its vastness. Maybe even a microsized point. Either way, we are minuscule when we gaze at the big picture.

The List of Amazing things

We went over a bunch of stuff that you may or may not have known. The world never ceases to amaze us. Education is the highlight of our life. Without learning, we would be insignificant and still sitting in caves for shelter. Every generation learns to live better. Every person is still discovering.
